States on IN-BETWEEN

States of IN-BETWEEN can be read as an in-between state, an in-between stage, or even a place in the in-between. In-between states open up a space that is yet to be explored and measured. In the in-between lies a freedom of possibilities. Nothing has to be fixed yet - much is open. Between the buildings on the courtyard grounds and the river lies the Au. This space is now played with by artists and explored in its possibilities. As a space that is usually only wandered through, the Au becomes a place in the context of the exhibition to which thoughts, ideas and stories are inscribed. The exploration and investigation of the surroundings, of nature, of the riparian landscape with its specific quality as a kind of in-between space, forms a starting point for the works.

Hafen 42

The art space Hafen 42 is located directly at the river Raab and consists of a number of different buildings. Two residential buildings, two workshops and other vacant houses make up the courtyard ensemble. It is characterized by the ongoing transformation and redefinition of the different spaces, which are constantly being conquered through conversions and renovations. These newly created places have already been used as working spaces for art projects, pop-up workshops, as locations for theater plays, concerts and festivals as well as exhibitions.
